To strengthen its research vision and academic faculty, our university has initiated a pre-application process for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor levels. To strengthen its research vision and academic faculty, our university has initiated a pre-application process for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor levels. We invite innovative and visionary academics with outstanding research potential in the strategic and priority areas specified below to join ITU.

Strategic Focus Research Areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence: Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Trustworthy AI (XAI), Multimodal Learning, Bioinformatics, etc.
  • Quantum Technologies: Quantum Computing, Algorithm Development, Hardware Architectures, Post-Quantum Cryptography, etc.
  • Cybersecurity and Data Governance: Network Security, Blockchain Technologies, AI Ethics, etc.
  • Sustainability: Green AI and technological solutions focused on environmental impact.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Degree: A Ph.D. from a reputable, research-intensive university in a related field is essential. Applications from high-potential candidates who are expected to complete their Ph.D. studies in 2026 are also highly encouraged.
  • Research and Publication Excellence: Candidates are expected to have a strong track record of conducting independent and innovative research or exceptional potential to create an international impact.
  • Teaching and Educational Leadership: Candidates are expected to demonstrate high motivation to teach with an innovative vision centered on active learning and project-based learning models at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

ITU offers its faculty members a vibrant, dynamic, and collaborative academic research ecosystem that encourages interdisciplinary work. Research funding opportunities will be provided to newly appointed faculty members through the ITU Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordination Unit. Furthermore, our academics will be offered the opportunity to establish their own companies within ITU's technoparks, and advanced computing infrastructure support will be provided through the National Center for High Performance Computing (UHeM) hosted at ITU. To help our incoming faculty members quickly adapt to campus life and research processes, housing or temporary accommodation options may be provided to successful candidates relocating from outside the city or abroad.

Pre-Application Process and Required Documents:

Interested candidates are kindly requested to prepare the following documents in English and/or Turkish and submit them to rectorate@itu.edu.tr:

  1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV): A comprehensive resume including academic and professional experiences, awards, and projects.
  2. Publication List: A current and complete list of publications.
  3. Statement of Purpose: A comprehensive vision document summarizing the candidate's current research areas, future research goals, and teaching philosophy.

Evaluation Process and Priority Date:

This call has been opened to establish a potential candidate pool before the official appointment process. Pre-applications submitted by May 15, 2026, will receive priority consideration.
