İTÜ is a research university. It attaches particular importance to strengthen its technical and technological presence that will nurture this quality. İTÜ has a rich R&D presence with its nearly 30 education and research centers, as well as more than 400 laboratories that enable students, young researchers, and academicians to conduct scientific studies. These centers and laboratories enable scientific research in many different fields that also constitute essential meeting points for interdisciplinary work. It is possible to test, analyze, and experiment on hundreds of subjects and produce prototypes in research centers and laboratories where R&D activities are carried out. Throughout its 247-year history, İTÜ has carried out dozens of projects being the first and the only in its field. İTÜ has demonstrated that it is a research university that can compete with the world with the projects it currently carries out and aims to carry out in the future.
